If you are one of my 50,000+ viewers since I started this blog after my first Ironman in 2012 then please support with a charitable contribution to me in this year’s Run to Home Base 9k run supporting our Veterans and their families when I get to run through Fenway Park, Boston. A dream event has helped me raise $476 and counting. If I get to $500, I pledge a $500 match. Kevin Patrick Coyle – Fundraising For Red Sox Foundation https://share.google/5STb2GXZVQO79U2nu
I am coupling and leading to recruit a team of Raytheon colleagues at 12+ strong for this amazing event and balancing it around my final CPA exam, Tax Compliance and Planning. I will be in Boston working for the week, racing Saturday, flying back to Tucson after and sitting the exam on Monday.
But I am also balancing that around working Full time and managing a team on a major and important program but also training.
This week I apparently studied 27+ hours.
I also trained 11hours across swim, bike, run. I am getting fitter and losing fat.

Today was a busy day. I woke at 7ish, studied 2hrs and then Fiona and I went to the pool. I had an urge to swim 3.8KM which is an Ironman distance swim of 2.4 miles. I have been back to consistent swimming for what I thought was going to be Ironman Florida which we withdrew ourselves from. I swam only 1x this week due to fatigue from last weeks 14hr+ training week. So I was quite surprised in today’s swim with pull bouy and 3.8km swim in Sahuarita, AZ 25meter pool. I went 16:13, 16:10, 16:07, 16:08 for a solid 1:04:39 swim. This is 29sec faster than the last time I swam this distance into my preparations for Ironman Lake Placid nearly 3 years ago. Its sad that I haven’t had the chance yet to become a 20X IRONMAN Finisher as I have been pursuing this CPA IRON EFFORT, FOR 2YEARS AND 8 MONTHS now. But Fiona and I have both sacrificed and I thank her for all the support. Swim Pics are with 100m to go.

Back to studying for another 4hrs and then I ran 14 miles watching the IRONMAN 2025 World Championship. It was great to see it again and there were so many amazing lines. But one of the highlights was seeing an 80 year old woman complete the 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile run. Having completed Kona in 2016 and 2019, I know how hard it is but at 80? She also happened to be from Mountain Lakes, NJ only 23minutes from my home town of Wayne. Then it wsd a o0min exam salmon dinner and now Epson salt bath with Sauvignon Blanc.

The mental fatigue I have had has mounted for 2.5years and even with breaks, recovery, holidays, successes, and failures, I sure feel like I am in mile 24 of a marathon either outright or in an Ironman. I have learned a lot about my persistence, and positive can do attitude over my life and this endeavor has proved that. Its what makes me worth it. And what brings value to me and those around me. I will never be the race winner or person who passes the full CPA exam on the first go in 6 months, which is amazing, but not me. But I have value those dont.
I have 2 weeks to go now. I am going to complete what I started.
In today’s run, at 2.5miles in I started walking. Either dehydration from the 1hr swim in 100F and warm pool, or 2nd RedBull went to my head. But I adjusted with run walk and then went 90sec faster W/W. Anything is Possible. Time to become a CPA.

STAY TUNED AND DONATE, PLEASE!
